We are registered with the Civil Mediation Council and, for disputes involving claims not exceeding £50,000 we provide services under the CMC Fixed Fee Scheme.

    So how does it work?

Mediation is a process facilitated by an independent, neutral person (the mediator) that helps disputing parties find a mutually acceptable solution to their dispute.

The mediator does not operate like a judge and does not impose solutions on the parties.

The mediator will discuss the issues with the parties and help them bring about a solution to their dispute in a constructive and sometimes creative fashion.

The process is confidential and without prejudice. This means that the mediator can be trusted and that anything discussed during a mediation cannot be used within legal proceedings.

During the process you will have the opportunity to work with the mediator in both private and joint sessions.

Mediation assumes that participants act in good faith and therefore are genuinely wanting to find a resolution of the disputed matter.

It is also assumed that participants will have authority to settle.

Agreements reached in mediation can be enforced through the courts, if necessary.

    Why choose mediation over litigation?

The mediator facilitates a process rather than determines an outcome - this therefore means there is more flexibility to achieve creative dispute solutions.

Mediation is quicker and less expensive than litigation.

Mediation gives the participants a stronger voice in resolving their dispute.

Because Mediation is private it can save or heal relationships that litigation may well destroy.
